Tonight I went to listen to Imogen Heap’s upcoming album Ellipse in an impromptu tweetup session at a fancy restaurant, Imogen promised to buy us all drinks (and did) and it was simply amazing. The event was totally packed which resulted in a second listening session (which i attended) that she kindly did for the late folks (well not late, just not early enough).
At the fancy hotel Imogen quickly went round the room and introduced herself as well as apologise for making everyone wait (bless her, it’s not even her fault, just no room). After a few chit chats she began playing tracks from her album and slowly going through each track and giving a brief introduction of how it came to be. She kept her explanations and meanings to the songs to herself so we could have our own interpretations of the songs. The whole event was just blissful, sitting down and listening to her new album for the first time in some nice speakers, the whole event made me smile. Imogen was happy to answer any questions fans wanted to ask as well as do a signing session at the end of the listening party.
I managed to get a hug from her as well as a photo (didn’t come out too well, bit out of focus! not that it matters because you’ll never see it!)
Though I had to wait for over an hour, it was well worth the wait
I love the wallpaper and stuff around the room, it was well fancy
